Master Sergeant Francis (Frank) L. Callahan was born on 25 June 1923. He served in the European Theater of Operations during WWII. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantry Badge. He enlisted in the 115th MP Co, RIARNG. He transferred to Company D, 16th Special Forces Group. He was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service. He died of a heart attack on 15 September 1969. He was buried with military honors at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence, RI.
