Paul M. Driscoll, 58, of Lonsdale Farm Road passed away Wednesday, February 16 at home. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Mary V. (Vass) Driscoll. He resided in Cumberland for the past 33 years, previously residing in Pawtucket. He was a United States Army National Guard Veteran, serving in the Airborne Division. He was employed as a floral desiger for Uncle Ronnies Flower Shop of Cumberland for over 30 years. Mr. Driscoll loved his family, friends, boating, waterskiing, summers at the beach, and most of all his grandchildren. He was known as a "handy man." He leaves two sons, Jamie Driscoll and his wife Jennifer of North Smithfield, and Corey Driscoll and his wife Carrie of Cumberland; one daughter, Christy Hasenfus and her husband Billy of Attleboro; two brothers, Edward Driscoll of Saunderstown, and Kevin Driscoll of Lincoln, one sister, Janice Coutu of New Hampshire; his aunt Frances Vass of Plainville and his Uncle John Vass of Franklin; his eight grandchildren; Dante, Brayden, Conor, Ashley, Isabella, Kelcy, Dylan and Gulianna. He was the former husband of Debra (Lussier)Driscoll. He also leaves his extended and loving family the Lussiers and his many nieces and nephews.
Paul enlisted in Company D, 19th Special Forces Group, RIARNG on 14 Oct 70. He also served in Company A, 2nd Bn, 19th SFG. He was an airborne qualified Supply Sergeant and Combat Engineer. He attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He was discharged on 3 Jan 80.
He is buried in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI; Section 7B, Lot 42.
