Captain David Martin Feeney was born on 2 April 1943. He graduated from Saint Raphael Academy, Pawtucket, RI in 1961. He enlisted in the 43d Quartermaster Company, RIARNG on 27 April 1964. He attended Officers Candidate School and was commissioned Second Lieutenant, Infantry in 1966. He completed the SF Officer Course, Fort Bragg in 1967 and the Jumpmaster Course in 1969. His last assignment was Commander, Company C, 5th Bn, 20th SF Gp, RIARNG. His civilian employment caused him to relocate to Illinois. He transferred from the RIARNG to 12th SF Gp, USAR, Chicago, Illinois. Records of his service after he departed RI are not available. David was a colorful and exuberant officer with a great deal of mental agility. He described individuals who did not demonstrate leadership skill as “unable to lead blind monkeys to the shit house.”
David married Constance (Connie) Maynard. They were the parents of Mark, Brian and Kevin.
David’s last residence was in Coral Springs, FL. He had several medical issues before passing on 6 February 2011. No obituary was published, no service or burial was conducted.
