MAJ Ralph I. Fuller, Jr.


Major Ralph I. Fuller, Jr. was born in 1925, Newark, N.J., a son of the late Ralph I. Fuller Sr. and the late Mary (Champlin) Fuller.  He was a 1943 graduate of Rogers High School.
He served in WWII from 24 June 1943 until the end of the war and continued to serve as an SFC Infantry until 1951.

He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant Infantry in the USAR on 17 January 1951.
On 18 January 1965 he was assigned as a B Team commander, Company D, 16th Special Forces Group, RIARNG.  On 1 February 1966 he commanded B12, Company D, 19th SF Gp, RIARNG.
He retired on 14 March 1970.  He died on 28 August 1997.

He was the husband of the late Virginia (Bliven) Fuller.  He was survived by a son, Mark C. Fuller of Jamestown; two daughters, Denise V. Mackie of West Lebanon, N.H., and Donna J. Fuller of Coventry; and eight grandchildren. He was the father of the late Dianne R. Fitzgerald, and brother of the late Miriam Newbauer and Elise Sherman
