Sergeant First Class Willie Mack Jones was born on 29 August 1938. He served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1960 as a ground maintenance specialist. He also served on active duty with the 118th Military Police Company (Airborne), 3rd Corps as a 94B2P (cook) for three years.
He enlisted in Company A, 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) RIARNG where he served as a supply sergeant. Willie participated in numerous overseas deployments with the unit.
He retired on 1 February 1997 with a combined total of 32 years of service.
He died on 12 November 2009. An honor guard from Chapter 48, SFA stood at Present Arms in front of the SF Monument in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery as Willie’s funeral procession passed by in route to Section J-1, Row 12, Site 902.
