SSG Adam C. Roy


 

Staff Sergeant Adam C. Roy, 31 ended his battle with PTSD on August 27th, 2018.  Adam served in the US Army from 2005 to 2013.  He transferred into Company A, 2nd Bn, 19th SF Group, RIARNG from the Vermont National Guard in 2006 and completed selection one week prior to his 19th birthday in June, 2006.

Adam became qualified as a Communications Specialist upon completing the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2008.  He served on two combat deployments; to OEF-Afghanistan in 2008-2009 and to OIF-Iraq in 2011.  Adam left the service after his 8th year of enlistment.  He will forever be remembered for his hard work, quick wit, and extraordinary sense of humor. 

Adam’s awards include the Army Commendation Medal, OEF Campaign Medal, OEF Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge and parachute badge.  

Adam worked construction, which was both his passion and his employment.  He is survived by his children, Calli Elizabeth Roy, age 9 and Colton Henry Roy, age 5, his parents Will and Daneen (Holland) Roy, and his siblings Asa, Tessa, and Randi.

Adam will be buried with full Military Honors in Arlington National Cemetery in the Fall of 2018
